About Seton

Seton is unusual for Calgary — it's less a residential community and more an actual town centre that happens to have homes attached. The South Health Campus opened here in 2012, the Brookfield YMCA followed, the Cineplex VIP came in 2015, and the residential build-out has caught up since. If you work at the hospital, Seton is genuinely walk-to-work.

Housing stock is heavy on townhomes and condos near the urban core, with detached two-storey homes on smaller lots through the residential pockets. Builders include Brookfield, StreetSide, and Cardel, with an unusually strong supply of multi-family for a SE community. The Seton Urban District master plan continues to add density and retail year over year.

School coverage is still building out: most students currently bus to nearby Mahogany or Auburn Bay schools, with new schools planned within Seton itself. Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School (CBE) opened in 2020 to serve the SE growth corridor, providing high school coverage for Seton, Mahogany, Auburn Bay, and Cranston students.

Pricing typically runs $350K condos through $700K detached, making Seton one of the more affordable entry points to the SE family corridor. Buyers skew toward South Health Campus staff, first-time buyers, and lifestyle-focused downsizers who want amenities at their doorstep. The community's walkable, mixed-use core is unusual for Calgary suburbs and tends to attract buyers who value urban convenience over lot size. Compare with Mahogany, Auburn Bay, and Walden.
