About Silver Springs

Silver Springs is a NW Calgary family community sitting on the elevated Bow River escarpment between Crowchild Trail and 53 Street NW. Build-out ran primarily through the 1970s and 1980s, with a streetscape that's aged into one of NW Calgary's most pleasant — tree canopy, generous lots, and direct Bow River pathway access for many addresses.

Housing is predominantly detached two-storey homes and bungalows on generous lots, with walkout basements common on the sloped escarpment streets. A meaningful share of homes have been substantially renovated over the last decade, and the prime escarpment streets command serious premiums on resale.

Silver Springs School (CBE) covers K-6 within walking distance for most addresses, and Sir Winston Churchill High School (CBE) handles public 10-12. The community's direct Bow River pathway access is a daily-life feature — running, cycling, and dog-walking trails right at the bottom of the escarpment. The U of C is a 7-minute drive south.

Pricing typically runs $625K-$925K, with the largest escarpment-edge estate homes occasionally crossing $1.1M. Buyer profile skews established families, NW corridor professionals specifically chasing the river access, and a strong downsizer cohort from larger NW homes. Compare with Scenic Acres, Varsity, and Ranchlands.
