About Legacy

Legacy launched in 2012 with WestCreek Developments and has grown steadily into one of south Calgary's largest active-build communities. The community sits at the city's southern edge, with strong connections to Stoney Trail SW and an emphasis on green space — Legacy was designed around a central pathway and pond network rather than a single lake.

Housing types are unusually varied for a newer community: estate-style detached homes near the south edge, standard two-storey through the middle sections, paired homes on smaller lots, and a strong townhome and condo supply along the commercial corridor. Builders include Jayman, Excel, Brookfield, and Truman — names that matter on resale.

All Saints High School (CCSD) opened to serve the area in 2017, with elementary K-9 coverage at Centennial High School's public catchment in adjacent communities. Legacy's on-community elementary school is in long-term planning. The community's commercial centre — Township at Legacy — has a Sobeys, banks, daycare, and restaurants, with the larger 130 Avenue SE corridor a 5-minute drive.

Pricing typically ranges from $400K townhomes through $750K detached, with the estate-style homes near the south end occasionally pushing $900K. Legacy attracts a strong cohort of newcomer families to Calgary, second-time buyers upgrading from condos, and some downsizers from larger inner-SW lots who want new construction without leaving the south. Compare with Walden, Silverado, and Belmont for other south-side options.
