About Copperfield

Copperfield sits right between McKenzie Towne and New Brighton, and that location alone tells you most of what you need to know — easy access to High Street, easy walk to the New Brighton Clubhouse, and Stoney Trail SE on the doorstep. Copperfield was built through the mid-2000s, so the housing stock is younger than McKenzie Lake but more established than Walden or Legacy.

Most homes are detached two-storey on standard lots, with a healthy share of paired homes and townhomes near the community's commercial nodes. Builders included Jayman, Cardel, and Morrison — meaningful names for resale because they all hold value reasonably well in this area. Copperfield School (CBE) serves K-4 within the community.

For Catholic students, St. Isabella School (CCSD) opened in adjacent Cranston, and All Saints High covers 10-12. Public high school students attend Centennial. The 130 Avenue SE retail corridor — including the Walmart, Co-op, Save-On, and a stretch of restaurants — is two minutes by car, and the South Health Campus is a 10-minute drive.

Resale typically runs $440K-$725K, with the larger estate-style homes occasionally crossing $800K. Copperfield attracts predominantly families with school-age children, with a small but growing population of downsizers from larger McKenzie Lake homes who want to stay in the area. Compare with McKenzie Towne, New Brighton, and Cranston when shopping the southeast.
